Assistant Principal Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (required)
  • Master's Degree (preferred)
  • CA Teaching Credential (preferred)
  • 3 years of classroom teaching or school related experience (required)
Compensation
  • $66,000-$76,000
  • Medical benefits
  • Tuition discount (for dependents enrolled in CMCS)
  • 40 hours of sick time and 40 hours of paid time off (in addition to school holidays)

Assistant Principal Job Duties:

Academics

  • Oversee ASCI and other academic events (spelling bee, speech meet)

  • Monitor classroom instruction on a regular basis

  • Create and maintain pacing guides by grade level

  • Monitor all gradebooks and grading policies

  • Approve and help coordinate field trips

  • Oversee the intervention program

  • Monitor students on academic probation and facilitate parent meetings

  • Respond to parent concerns regarding academics

  • Assist with creating class rosters and scheduling

  • Maintain, update, and oversee K-2 standards based report cards

  • Oversee Accelerated Reader program & library programs/events

Teacher Support

  • Provide new teacher orientations and weekly support meetings

  • Conduct both informal and formal teacher observations

  • Assist the principal with professional development and school events

  • Monitor absences and help coordinate sub coverage as needed

  • Assist with teacher recruitment and interviews

  • Recruit, interview, and train substitute teachers

  • Lead and coordinate teacher devotions

Parent/Student Support

  • Plan weekly chapels

  • Plan discipleship events

  • Facilitate monthly principal’s table reward system

  • Assist principal with discipline as needed

  • Attend IEP meetings as necessary

  • Oversee elementary ASB program

  • Plan kinder and 6th grade graduation

  • Coordinate parent volunteers and training

  • Oversee Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) group

  • Be visible on the playground weekly 

Events

  • Plan and implement annual school fundraiser (Boosterthon) 

  • Assist with the planning and production of Warrior Fest and Calvary Kick Off

Technology

  • Make necessary purchases and enter into the portal

  • Update and maintain the content on the school website

  • Oversee marketing/advertising

  • Maintain the school’s social media presence

  • Maintain the CMCS App and ensure information is up to date 

  • Update and maintain the school hallway calendar
